Vermont: Cheddar, Beer and Leaves

The Czar is currently away in the Middle East defending certain businesses of his in Tripoli. Luckily, he has interests on both side of the cruise missiles. Svetlana has taken the LSD with her trainer and is ordering me to drink 64 ounces of beer from a bottle marked ‘Whole Foods: Seal Bile’. I’ve found her receipt and believe I have identified the origin of the beer I’m tasting, though I am very, very drunk now.

Brewer: McNeil’s Brewery

Beer: Sunshine IPA

Location: Growler at Whole Foods

ABV: 7.2%

Appearance: Murky Gold after a turbid pour.

Head: Fluffy and persistant, think of peaks egg whites.

Lacing: Fishnets!

Nose: Citrus with some very earthy undertones, like mown wheat. This beer smells awesome.

Taste: Grapefruit then pine then a nice bitter bracing finish. The middle of this beer was a bit sweet but had a great bitter bracing finish. Bitter bracing finish.

Mouthfeel: Somewhat thin, but a malty smoothness, rather than a watery mouthfeel.

Drinkability: I drank 64 ounces of this last night.

Rating: 3.5 hops because I don’t want to be the jerk who rates every IPA 4 hops. I’ll drink this any time I see it, and luckily because Svetlana got it in a growler I didn’t have to look at the atrocious label on it.
